Doug Jeffrey
Vice President, Strategic Accounts, Recondo Technology

With over 35 years of experience in the Financial Services Sector, Doug Jeffrey has been at the forefront of the big data tsunami. This sector, more than any other, constantly struggles with issues surrounding the three V’s: the volume, velocity, and variety of data. Doug’s knowledge of the industry and its big data analytics challenges are both broad and deep. Currently, as President—Americas at Information Mosaic, a privately-held post trade processing software provider, Doug is responsible for all its operations in the U.S.

Doug has held senior-level executive positions at data processing, software, and system integration companies. These companies provided services to banks, broker dealers, asset managers, hedge funds, investment banks, and custody banks. The target markets included front, middle and back offices while the products assisted traders, operations managers, and research analysts in doing their jobs more efficiently and productively. Doug has successfully held general management positions with full profit and loss responsibility for more than 20 years and senior sales management positions for over 15 years.

From 2000 through 2005, Doug acted as the Managing Director of Telerate EMEA which provides integrated real-time financial information and transaction services to suppliers and users of capital markets content and liquidity. This $100 million entity was successfully sold to Reuters. Prior to that, Doug was President of New Era of Networks (NEON) Financial Services Division, a system integration company that was one of the first to introduce middleware to the marketplace, where he was responsible for all operations and managed the worldwide expansion of the division. Doug also spent eight successful years at SWIFT Americas, a global provider of secure financial messaging services. As one of the Managing Directors, Doug was instrumental in adding asset managers and broker dealers as new categories of SWIFT participants.

Doug began his career in the Financial Services Sector after graduating from West Point and completing a five year service obligation. Doug started out as a top quintile producing retail broker for Merrill Lynch. He went on to work for Interactive Data Corporation for ten years, rising from a position in New York Sales to eventually managing the companies' securities business. Doug subsequently held senior positions at Thomson Financial and Reuters where he managed marketing, sales, product management, and development activities.

Doug is the proud father of five daughters, one of whom is an Olympic Gold medalist swimmer.
