Welcome to one of the
newer columns from PatternBuilders!
For those of you who have followed us
in the Retail Intelligence Corner, we are
broadening out to a more general discussion of
Analytics.
Why, you ask?
Because, there is Truth in That Data
Out There…we just have to find it.
Whether you are looking for consumer
insights, trying to run your business (in any
industry) more effectively, working to
understand treatment and quality outcomes in a
healthcare setting, or just dealing with a
random set of data that landed on your desk on
Monday, we are all trying to crunch the
numbers and find the patterns.
And here in the Analytics Corner, we
talk about doing just that.
We will cover a broad set
of topics – from resources available in the
world and on the Internet, to new trends in
technology to what we are seeing and finding
in our business at PatternBuilders.
We’ll talk about books – the classics
as well as new ideas being lately published.
I’ll gather your input via surveys on
topics such as accessibility of technology and
what works in your business and then share
those learnings in the Corner.
And I’m always open to suggestions for
things to talk about.
As a starter, I want to
recommend the communities that are growing on
LinkedIn
as a resource for Analytics.
When LinkedIn Groups began a few years
ago, analytics groups were one of the first
types of communities to sprout up.
And now there are hundreds, stretching
across all sorts of industries and
disciplines.
There are many folks like us out there
and this is a great way to interact, share
learnings, network, and even find help with
that sticky question you’ve been trying to
answer for weeks.
Lately, I’ve joined a couple of new
Healthcare Analytics groups and am enjoying
the spirited conversation going on about the
Stimulus program, EHRs, and HIT in general.
It’s another great way to keep
up-to-date with this dynamic area of
analytics.
So stay tuned for
up-coming posts and Happy Crunching!
